Good evening,
We hope that this finds you well. We have had a busy week in school and have been working hard in all areas of the curriculum.
As a school, in assembly, they decided to ‘bring back’ the reading raffle this week. School has a range of prizes including books, bookmarks, pencils and useful stationery to use at home or school. They decided it would be drawn on a Friday. 5 tickets could be earned for 5 reads at home. There will be more prizes – one for each year group. We hope that this helps to inspire reading at home. Having a love of reading from a young age will help support education for life, so we hope this inspires this.
This week, we say goodbye and good luck to Mrs Graves who has been working as a TA in Merlin class for the last couple of years. She has helped many in Merlins with their learning. We wish her the very best as she begins her retirement.

Over the past few weeks we have been holding interviews for cover teachers. We are awaiting checks to come back before announcing who will be joining our team. For Eagles though, I will be teaching them for their core subjects (both years five and six) whilst Mrs Lewis is on maternity leave. This provides consistency in preparation for secondary school and in order to ensure that they have the pastoral support that they need at the moment. I will announce and introduce the children to the afternoon teacher once the position has been confirmed.
This week we would like to say well done to:
- Little Owls and Tawny Owls – Morven for helping her friend, Tobin for excellent manners and Billy for a brilliant attitude to learning.
- Kestrels – George, Boyd, Hunter and Floss for taking time to improve their brush strokes in art.
- Merlins – Ben and Toby for fantastic maths work this week and Rupert for amazing focus and concentration.
- Eagles – Finn for helping his peers with arithmetic, Toby for excellent writing using semi-colons and Rose for being a kind, supportive partner.
Well done to our handwriting heroes who are Tobin, Hunter, Tilly and Rose. Congratulations to our reading raffle winners: Arthur, Floss, Freddie, Emily, Alfred, Jess and Pippa. Thank you to our golden ticket winners who were nominated by school council: Joel, Florence, Harry and Neve. Golden tickets are awarded by the school council to children who display excellent table manners. Each child can then select a friend to accompany them on our special lunch table.

Please take time to book a parents’ evening appointment. We find it really valuable speaking with you.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Stekic family.
Take care.
Mrs L. Edgerton
