Storm Goretti

We have had a few trees at school affected by Storm Goretti. Most of which I have managed to clear; however, at the front of school one of the trees has a couple of branches that need a tree surgeon to clear as they are quite high. Therefore, I have taped off the area for safety. This affects entrance to the front of school only. To manage this:

  • Pick up and drop off through the old Little Owls gate between 8:35am and 8:45am.
  • Access to the main front door is via the car park and then following the path to the front door. Please ensure that any children using this route are accompanied by an adult as the footpath is closed at the front and the car park could be busy.

  • For early birds and night owls, please access the front door via the car park.
  • I have been told that the village hall car park is beginning to thaw, but please be careful using this as it has not been gritted.

Many thanks for your support in this. We hope to have a tree surgeon out tomorrow to help us clear this area.

Mrs Edgerton

School tomorrow

Mrs Edgerton aims to make a decision about whether school will be open tomorrow as early as possible for families. She will notify parents using Tapestry and Seesaw by 7.30am tomorrow morning. You may wish to make a contingency plan in case school is closed.  We appreciate your support in this matter given the uncertainty of the weather.

Shropshire Council have cancelled all school buses for tomorrow. Even if we are open, no school bus service will be provided.

We have also taken the difficult decision to cancel early birds tomorrow morning. This is to allow our staff extra time to arrive to school safely  if we are open. We  apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Unfortunately, we have also decided to cancel Stay and Play for safety reasons.

Thank you for your understanding.

Winter weather conditions

With winter weather conditions on the horizon, I’d like to signpost you to our school closure procedure should we need to consider closing:

School Closure Due To Bad Weather Jan 26

We will also aim to grit the paths should the weather turn icy. Please refer to the school gritting policy for the areas of school we aim to grit in the mornings. Please be careful as the winter weather approaches.

Christmas Parties

What excitement we have had today – Father Christmas has visited us and spent time in all our classrooms. The children were absolutely thrilled to see him and had lots of news to share with him. They all assured him they have been very good this year.

Thank you to the School Circle for providing prizes for our party games. We have had a wonderful and very noisy afternoon!
