Recorder Lessons

Dear Parents,

Recorder Lessons

We are now able to offer recorder lessons on Tuesday afternoons during school hours to children in Year 2 onwards. Mrs Lewis will be teaching the lessons in groups and they will be free of charge.

The lessons will start on Tuesday 17th October. Places are not limited for recorder lessons as they will be taught in small groups based on your child’s ability.  In order for your child to participate in the recorder lessons they will need to bring in their own recorder and also a copy of the following book:

This book is called “Recorder Playing in Colour – Book 1 for Descant Recorders” by Brian Davey. It can be found on Amazon at the following address: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Recorder-Playing-Colour-Bk-Descant/dp/1898378002

Here is a link to a suggestion for a recorder you could buy for the lessons: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aulos-205A-Descant-Recorder-Brown/dp/B000NCEQCS

We are really looking forward to promoting music across the school and think this is a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn music and develop new skills. If you would like your child to attend these lessons, please email the school office at admin@longnorschool.co.uk by no later than Monday 16th October.

Forest School Reminder

Just a reminder that Merlins class will be visiting Beedles Wood tomorrow afternoon.

Please could children be sure to come to school in their school uniform with a change of clothes for Forest School (leggings / jogging bottoms with a long sleeved top) plus their coat, waterproof trousers and wellies.

All children will need a packed lunch – no nuts, fizzy drinks or glass bottles please.

Trip Consent Needed

We are still missing consent for many children for the Beedles Wood Forest School sessions and Eagles Cross Country event. Please log onto ParentPay and give payment and consent as soon as possible. Thank you.

Cardboard box

For our animation project to finish the term, we could do with some cardboard boxes. If you have a cardboard box that is about the size of a shoe box (or a little bigger) and you wouldn’t mind us transforming it into a set for our films then we would appreciate them in school tomorrow morning.
Thank you!
