Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre Trip on Friday

We are awaiting consent from a number of families for the Merlins class trip on Friday to the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. Here is a copy of the letter in case it did not make it home.

On Friday 20th March, Merlins class will be visiting the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms as part of their work on the Iron Age.

Children will be participating in an Iron Age workshop, visiting the replica Roundhouse and walking up Norton Hill for a guided tour of the hill fort.

All children will need to bring a packed lunch and a drink (no nuts, glass bottles or fizzy drinks please). The children will need to wear school uniform and bring a coat.

We will be leaving school at 9.00am and returning at 3.00pm.

We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £11.93 towards the cost of the trip. Please make payment and give consent via ParentPay by Wednesday 18th March.

Year 2 and 4 Camps

We do not yet have consent for a number of children for the Year 2 and 4 camps tomorrow evening. Please ensure you have given consent for this activity on ParentPay so your child is able to stay.

Thank you.

Lawley Walk

Due to the forecast we have decided to postpone the Lawley Walk this Friday. We will look at planning this again for the autumn term as a KS2 trip to include everyone.

Merlins Concord visit

Today your child will be bringing home a letter about a trip to Concord College on 12th February (the full letter can also be found on ParentPay).

Please note the later return time from this trip which will mean all children will need to be collected from Longnor at about 4.10pm. It is also Parents Evening on that day – please let the office know if there is a problem with your appointment due to the late return of this trip.

Many thanks.

Young Voices reminders

We are excited for Young Voices on Thursday!

Here are a few reminders of the details:

  • We will be transporting the children to and from Birmingham via coach. The coach will leave Longnor at 10:45am and will return at approx. 10:30pm.
  • **Children will need to bring enough food with them for both lunch and dinner – no nuts, fizzy drinks or glass bottles please**. Please can all children bring their food in a rucksack. We ask that children do not bring any additional items other than this.
  • Remember to wear a plain white t-shirt or Young Voices top on Tuesday under a school jumper / cardigan, along with school trousers or skirt.
  • Digital tickets for parents who ordered them have been sent to your email address via the AXS app. Please make sure you download the app and accept the tickets as soon as possible in case there are any issues. If you have not received this email, contact the school office.
  • We will have a Longnor banner to help audience members spot us in the arena – we recommend bringing binoculars!

If the coach is delayed, we will use Seesaw to communicate. Please have notifications enabled.

All the best and happy singing!
