It is now coming up to that time of year when the School Circle AGM takes place. All parents are automatically members of the School Circle and are warmly invited to participate in this final meeting of the year – whether or not you have attended previous meetings.
This is a great chance to celebrate what the School Circle has achieved during the year, help input into planning for the next school year, suggest how the money we raise should be spent and along with other items, the new School Circle committee is elected.
There is usually a chairperson, secretary, treasurer and communications officer. In year’s past there has also been a vice-chair. The current chairperson, secretary and treasurer will not be seeking re-election as they have worked on committee posts for several years. In order to secure the future of School Circle we need all three positions to be filled.
School Circle has also been structured so that there are ‘Event Organisers’ responsible for coordinating each event. This often isn’t someone with a nominated position, but someone from the wider circle, in order to share the workload. For bigger events this might involve a sub-committee. We have core events such as the Frost Fayre, Duck Race and Summer Show, and changing events such as a Ball, Longnor’s Got Talent, quizzes, Sunday Brunch, bingo, Easter Egg Hunt…new ideas always welcomed.
If you think that you could take on any of the four roles of either chairperson, secretary, treasurer or communications officer, then please can you fill in the form (please see the link below) to register your interest and return to the school office by Monday 16th July 2018. Elections for these key roles will take place at the AGM. If you would like any more information or have any questions about the roles please feel free to speak to me at school or email schoolcircle@longnorschool.co.uk.
Hope to see you at the AGM on Tuesday 17th July, 7pm in the school hall.
