Lawley Leap Help

We are only 2 months away from hosting the Lawley Leap and really need your help on the day. The plan for the day is for the route to be the main event with a smaller scaled back school fete, potentially with some performances by the children, held afterwards in the early afternoon.

As such, we currently need 10 volunteers stationed on or around our planned route to ensure safety and proper completion of the course. There is no need to provide first aid as this will be staffed by professionals.  If you are interested in this or know of someone who can do so please let us know in the school office. We will also need our usual band of volunteers with staffing stalls at the fete afterwards, for those who are less keen on getting your steps in!

Posters advertising this event will be printed and available to collect from reception from Monday onwards, if you are able to, please pick one up to post around your local area to advertise this event for us. A rota of stalls and volunteers posts will be circulated for sign ups nearer to the time.

Friday 9th May

Good evening,

This week I’d like to write to year six:

Dear year six,

I have had the privilege of teaching you all through the years that you have been at Longnor and I have always been impressed with your hard work and dedication that you have given to your learning. This is even more evident now you are in year six.

Next week you have your SATS. This is your chance to shine in your learning. But, remember, these papers do not show how wonderful you are at art, music, computing, sport and qualities that make you amazing individuals.

Enjoy your week (and the extra breakfast in school). We all wish you the best of luck.

Have a lovely, restful weekend.

From Mrs Edgerton

Friday 2nd May

Good evening,

What a glorious, sunny week we’ve had in Longnor! The first week back has brought much excitement as our swimming lessons have begun with Kestrels and some KS2 children. We are really impressed with the confidence in the water and pleased that all demonstrate respect for the water, demonstrating a good level of water safety awareness.

Earlier this year, Eagle class joined in with a STEM learning day which involved designing a glider. We are delighted to announce that Tilly and Megan have been announced as winners of the West Midlands Region for their sustainable aerospace design! We are very proud and hope that you enjoy your prize giving event in July.

Please take time to remember sun hats and sun screen in this warmer weather.

Have a lovely bank-holiday weekend.

Mrs L. Edgerton
