Forest school is really important to me because we can spend time with nature, respect it and to learn about trees for example. My favourite thing to do in forest school is building dens, because you get to use teamwork and are proud of what you create in the end. The last den we built was for the Christmas party and we used the climbing frame – we put a roof, floor and even walls on ours! It was spectacular.
This term, in forest school, some people have been finishing Mayan houses. We made them with sticks and mud. We had straw for the roof and mud to keep it together. We used string to wrap around some straw to bundle and make the roof.
Most forest school sessions we get to have some play to have fun and be free. I feel free, joyful and happy when I’m in forest school. Forest school helps with everyone’s mental wellbeing.
