What a busy week we’ve had! Thank you to everyone for working hard and focusing upon their learning.
First of all, a huge thank you to the School Circle for donating £2,000 to school so that each class can set up a comfy book corner. Inspiring a love of reading is important for life so we are thankful to everyone who has donated and supported in raising these funds.
All classes have been outside for forest school this week, developing their skills and working together as a team. With autumnal weather now here, it is really important that all have sensible clothes to wear and a change of shoes for when we return to school.
Year six were invited to Concord College on Wednesday to meet Stuart McBain and see his solar-powered car before he embarks on his challenge: ‘Charge Around Australia’. They joined in with investigations and had a live link to Australia to see a science laboratory which now prints solar panels. Thank you to Concord College for arranging this for us.
We have a few changes to our day. With infections rising locally, we have decided to reduce the number of children congregating together inside. Therefore, we will have two separate assemblies and have two separate sittings for lunch (classes 1 and 2 for the first sitting; classes 3 and 4 for the second). We will continue to monitor the situation and reassess as needed with guidance from the local authority.
Thank you for your continued support.
I hope you all have a lovely and safe weekend.
