For today, I’ve asked our ‘Duckstar Reporters’ to write a piece for the newsletter. Over to them:
Longnor’s quacking event is finally here!
On Sunday the 22nd May, Longnor has it’s long awaited duck race at 12 o’quack. Our reporters – James Pond and Charlie Quacklin – have been catching up with our ‘eggcellent’ competitors.
James Pond interviewed our ‘raining’ champion David Peckham.
Q – You must be training hard, so talk us through your preparation.
A – Well, first I wake up at the quack of dawn, I have my quacker oats with an ‘eggspresso’ to wash it down. At lunch, I simply have my cheese and quackers. Of course, as an ‘eggstordinary’ star I have been going to the gym cracking a sweat and doing my duck ups! I’m quackers for this event!
Charlie Quacklin questioned our very own Quackie Chan and his coach Side Chick.
Q – Are you ready for Sunday’s race?
A – I might need to put some duck tape on my feathered suit and dig out my goggles, but other than that I fit the bill! I feel like a very lucky ducky even though this will be a tough one to quack. I can’t wait to start surfing the webbed waves.
Thank you to all our quacking stars.
We hope you are going to join us for a quacking time!
