Good evening,
School has been filled with activity this week, with all children fully immersed in their learning:
Little Owls have been busy organising their lolly pop and ice cream sale which is happening next week. They have created posters, taken orders from the children and thought about how they are going to set up the stall. Brilliant enterprise work all raising funds for charity.
Kestrels have been busy preparing for story writing. Using their knowledge of animals, they have planned some fantastic stories. I can’t wait to hear them. I also saw some brilliant art work this week. They have been thinking about shading using light and dark to create 3D form: they took their time and demonstrated excellent control of their pencil work.
Merlins have had a fabulous couple of weeks studying the story of Philippe Petit and his tight rope walk. They have been inspired to write a range of genres and are about to film their own news report. We’ll try to share these with you.
Eagles have been continuing with their WW2 project. In their DT work, they have designed and created bags from rags – recycling old pieces into very fashionable items. Thank you to all the parents that have been into school to help us use the sewing machine: the bags are looking amazing!
We are all looking forward to the week ahead and continuing our learning.
Have a safe weekend.
