At the end of a long half term, it is time to reflect and celebrate achievements. The summer term is my favourite term as pupils consolidate their learning and really thrive. We also have some fantastic events within our community and especially the duck race last weekend! Thank you to everyone that managed to join us and to Rachel King for going above and beyond again.
We’ve also been lucky this week to have a PJ and popcorn night in school. Thank you to all of the School Circle team who organised this event – our children always enjoy it!
In assemblies this week, we’ve been thinking about our value of friendship and linked it to the Good Samaritan story. We thought about how friendship can be shown to our neighbour. (Some found it tricky to think of a neighbour as someone in the community and not just the family next door.)
We also talked about water safety following the tragedy on the news. Together we listed where we find water locally and talked about the dangers these present. Some were able to think about the water safety they have completed in swimming sessions and shared that if they fall in they should remain calm and float if they cannot get out. We hope that you can continue these conversations at home especially if you are near water over half term.
We all hope that you are able to have a rest over half term, as the summer term seems to be filling up with incredible opportunities already. Have a lovely week and we’ll see you on Monday 3rd June.
All the best,
Mrs L. Edgerton
