Good evening,
It has been lovely, this week, walking through school hearing singing and acting from key stage two. Merlins and Eagles seem to be having a fantastic time developing their creative arts skills and working as a team to perform. We cannot wait for the final performances!
Year six had a day out on Thursday to Hereford Cathedral for their leavers’ service. Mrs Lewis said that they were all exemplary and showed incredible respect. It was a lovely day spent as a year six team, thinking about their transition to secondary school; thinking about what they’re looking forward to and what they might be worried about.
Congratulations to all that have been nominated for an achievement award this week:

- Annie for being a great friend.
- Jacob for being a fantastic helper in the classroom.
- George for being a fantastic fruit monitor.
- Alice B for a wonderful positive attitude towards her learning.
- Etienne for his great ‘can do’ attitude to learning.
- Harry and Hannah for excellent progress in their writing.
This afternoon we had a visit from an author called Michael McCarthy. Michael is registered blind, is hemiplegic and has learning difficulties. He has written many books for children with the help of his neighbour. He has also run the London Marathon, the Great North Run and cycled to Paris. We were inspired to never give up and keep trying even though some things will be challenging. Reception and KS1 were given a copy of the book All Aboard. We are all really looking forward to next week for our first careers’ week. Thank you to everyone that has volunteered their time in order to completely fill our week full of visitors.
