Good evening,
Welcome back! It was fantastic to see some lovely smiles as everyone was keen to catch up with friends on Wednesday. Everyone looks really healthy and had many stories to share about their six week break.
We would all like to especially welcome those that are new to our school. Our new reception children have settled quickly into the daily routine and are developing their independence already! Well done to all of Tawny Owls!
As I walk around school, everyone has shown fantastic enthusiasm and made a great first impression. Some have already thought about how they would like to have a job to lead through school. Already, Olive, Finn, Conrad, Ella and Polly have been excellent assembly leaders – they have confidently stood in front of the school and helped others when they were a little unsure. Also, a huge thank you to Dylan, Oscar and Elliott who have been instrumental in organising the equipment at breaktime – I know that the whole school are thankful. I am looking forward to working with all children this year through the committees and clubs.
In assembly, we thought about our vision statement and what this means:
“Together, we inspire a lifelong love of learning.”
One of the important words for us all is the word together: we learn from each other as a team and a community. Therefore, children have been given the opportunity to lead clubs and share their skills with others. They will need to complete a planning sheet and chat it through with me before they begin leading these in the next couple of weeks. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to develop vital communication skills and independence. I’m excited to see the range of extra-activities we’ll have shared this term! Watch this space!
If you are able to, please come and join us for a ‘meet the teacher’ meeting next week. (See dates below.) We hope to see you!
Have a lovely weekend.
