As a small rural church school, we have designed the curriculum to promote wellbeing, independence and respect for cultures and beliefs. Our school is situated in rural Shropshire, meaning there is little diversity within our population: it is, therefore, a priority to design opportunities to broaden knowledge of cultures, beliefs and diverse cultural capital through the use of resources – valuable books, visitors and virtual, live streamed events across the internet – and through planned, valuable experiences on educational visits.
Inspiring a love of nature, the environment and the world we live provides the foundations for personal development at Longnor CE Primary School as we value weekly forest school sessions. As a child-centred, inspirational learning process, each individual is encouraged to play, explore and take risks through a holistic and inclusive program. Confidence and self-esteem develops through hands-on experiences in our natural setting.

Providing opportunities to lead and develop personal skills inspires a lifelong love of learning. Each individual at Longnor CE Primary School has talent and interest which is fostered and supported within our Christian community. A wide range of extra-curricular opportunities provide a platform for independence, communication and social development at lunch time and after school. Children leading their own clubs, committees and activities further promotes ambition and self-esteem within school and the local community.
