Friday 18th October

Good evening,

We’ve had a fantastic week in school!

Earlier today, Little and Tawny Owls shared their work with the whole school in their class assembly. We were all amazed by their confidence in speaking in front of a hall full of people! They have completed some fantastic work and shared songs, writing and maths activities that they’ve been doing. It was lovely seeing their photos on the screen too. Thank you to those families who managed to join us and share in their achievements this afternoon.

On Wednesday, school had a very special assembly in which Mrs Lewis shared how proud she was to be heading to the World Triathlon Championships in Malaga this weekend. She is representing Great Britain in the aquabike (swim and bike) for her age group team. She has set school a challenge linked to her competition for over half term: to complete some mini-activities in a passport linked to art, music and sport. Like the reading raffle, if children complete three activities they get a ticket, four activities will mean two tickets and all five will mean three tickets. Mrs Lewis is looking for some prizes to bring back from the championships. We all wish her the best of luck! Click here for her Shropshire Star interview.

Thank you for your support on Wednesday afternoon when the roads were becoming waterlogged due to the weather. We really appreciate those who were able to pick up earlier than planned, especially those who stay in night owls, as this meant that staff could begin their journey home earlier.

We all hope that you have a lovely weekend.

All the best.

Mrs L. Edgerton

Just a reminder that Next Generation Photography will be coming in on Monday to take individual and sibling photos of your children.

If you would like to bring in older or younger children for a sibling photo, you are welcome to come in at 8.30am.

E-safety

This week we thought about passwords and how we can design a secure password for accounts and devices. As a school, we created our ‘top tips’ for creating a safe password:

  1. Use numbers.
  2. Never include your name.
  3. Use special characters.
  4. Use important words to you.
  5. Make it tricky.
  6. Keep it secret.

Little Owls Bingo

Little Owls are preparing for their bingo evening and were wondering whether anyone could help out with prizes. They are looking for the following donations if possible:

Thank you for your support.

Asda will donate 0.5% of the value of your shop to our PTA. Also, every time somebody opts in, Asda will give an additional £1 to the school Cashpot. Plus, it doesn’t stop there – Asda are also giving £50 to every school to get them started.

Asda does the rest, all money raised will be donated to schools to spend on the things they need the most, such as (school to input)

Personal items in school

Please think carefully about allowing your child to bring any special items into school (such as watches or toys) due to the risk of loss or breakage. We cannot guarantee the safety of anything brought into school and would hate for any child to lose or damage something precious.

Thank you for your understanding.
