2nd October 2026

Good evening,

Thank you to everyone that came along to our Harvest festival this afternoon. It was lovely seeing so many faces and being able to share our songs. Thanks also for all the donations of food for the Food Bank in Shrewsbury – our school council decided that they would like the gifts of food to go there this year.

Congratulations to Merlin class on completing their cross country event at Cardingmill Valley. They all tried their hardest and were a fantastic team – supporting each other and showing excellent respect to all that entered.

Well done to our year 3 and 4 footballers who enjoyed their competition on Wednesday. Congratulations to the boys’ team who came 3rd in their category and progressed to the next stage.

This week our school librarians have introduced a new challenge where we recognise the classes and students who have done the most reading in the week. This week’s winners are Jack, Adelaide and Amelia and the winning class was Merlins. Remember to sign your child’s reading record every time they read.

We hope that you all have a lovely weekend.

Mrs L. Edgerton

Reminders

Just a reminder that water bottles only have water and not squash. This is important particularly in school as spillages of squash are quite sticky.

If you’re child needs a snack at breaktime we ask that it is only fruit please. All children in KS1 have a fruit snack provided.

School Circle Meeting – Wednesday 7th October

Our next School Circle meeting will take place on Wednesday 7th October at 8.00pm at The Pound Inn, Leebotwood.

We’ll be discussing plans for the upcoming events this term so if you are interested in helping out please do come along. New faces are always very welcome – it’s great to share ideas and hear from everyone.

If you’d like to be added to the School Circle WhatsApp group to receive updates about meetings and events, please let us know.

100 Club

We have a few numbers still available for 100 Club! Please contact Caroline Marsden or leave a message at the office if you would like one.

For those who are new to the school, 100 Club is a bit like a lottery – you buy a number for just £12 a year. Each month three numbers are drawn and there are cash prizes for the winners: 1st place wins £25, 2nd place £10 and 3rd place £5.

Please help spread the word and ask grandparents and friends if they are interested too! Thank you for your continued support.
