Friday 4th October
Good evening,
This week, in school, we’ve had a focus upon online safety: self-image and identity. As part of this, we’ve thought about what we place online and have been creating avatars. The school created an avatar for me in assembly – it was great fun and everyone had a giggle as they were trying to make it look like me! Please continue to talk about staying safe online and think about how we create an image of ourselves online with the words and pictures we post. There are useful resources on the UK Safer Internet page.
We all would like to thank Little Owls and Mrs Graves for the lovely apple crumble. They made apple crumble for all children in school, thinking about how they can give something to our community. Mrs Graves kindly brought in the apples from her garden.
Also, a huge thank you to our mystery readers this week as we had two visit the younger class. If you would like to be a mystery reader and share a picture book with Little Owls, then please get in touch. We are always looking for volunteers to promote a love of reading.
Have a lovely weekend.
Mrs L. Edgerton

New School Circle Chair
As many of you know, I have taken on the role of Chair of School Circle. For those of you that don’t know me, I am Barnaby’s mum, and will often be around at school pick up!
Following the AGM last week, I just want to say a huge thank you to Tina for everything she has done as Chair over the last few years. She has done an amazing job, and will be missed as Chair.
A big thank you as well to Alexis and Zara who have taken on, and will be sharing, the Secretary role.
I believe School Circle is hugely important for the children of Longnor School, and I am so pleased that I have the opportunity to be part of the team.
On that note if anyone is interested in joining School Circle, we would be more than happy to welcome you. We do need volunteers for events throughout the year, even if you could help out for a couple of hours – every little helps!
I am looking forward to this year – it’s going to be busy, fun and entertaining!

Friday Night Owls
We’ve had a request for Night Owls provision on a Friday night. We had recently reduced this offer due to lack of numbers. Therefore, we would appreciate you completing this quick (one question) survey to let us know whether you would use this service until 4:30pm on a Friday. We would need at least 5 attending in order to sustain this provision.
