Friday 21st March
Good evening,
We have had another great week in Longnor Primary School! It was wonderful hearing about the adventures of Eagle class from their Arthog week in their assembly today. There were lots of funny stories from the week including loosing shoes from the top of the rock climb and great stories from a chilly gorge walk! It sounds like memories were made for life. Thank you so much to all of the adults that gave their time for Eagles to have a wonderful week.
We’ve been designing Easter eggs this week for a Lingen Davies walk around Eaton Manor. Watch this space for details of how you can see our eggs at this charity, Easter event.
Congratulations to the cricket team who represented Longnor at CSS. They all played well as a team and won all of their matches. Well done! I have your certificates and will hand these out in Monday’s assembly.
In assembly, we have shared our new menu for the 1st April. We will no longer be offering a cold sandwich option on a daily basis. There will be a daily choice of a jacket potato with a range of fillings for those that want and alternative to the main being offered. We will share these new menus next week once Mrs Sidoli has finalised them.
Thank you to all that supported Red Nose Day today. We raised a fantastic £100 for Comic Relief. Classes enjoyed sharing jokes and making each other laugh!
Good luck to the cross country runners who are representing Longnor at Concord College tomorrow afternoon.
Have a lovely weekend.
Mrs L. Edgerton

Scholastic Book Fair
Our Book Fair is arriving this Thursday! Please come into school with your child at 3:20pm on Thursday or Friday to have a browse at what’s on offer. You can pay using a QR code but you will also need your card details.
Feel free to have a look on their website prior to the arrival of our cases; you can even buy the books beforehand.
You can view the books that will be available here:
To pay online, click the parent tab and follow the instructions. Be sure to select Longnor C of E Primary School to earn free books for our school library.
The children will also browse the books during the school day on Friday and will come home with wish lists so we will also ensure that the QR code is on the door by the office in case you don’t have time to pop in. The children will also be able to use their book token from World Book Day at the fair (these will be given out this week).
We are running a competition to design a new front cover for your favourite book and the winners will receive a voucher to spend at the fair. There will be five winners in total so get creative and use your imagination to design a better cover than the original! The children will be coming home with a template but they don’t have to use it. This competition closes on Mon 24th March (please make sure all entries are handed in before 1pm).
Thank you in advance for your support.
