Friday 21st November
Good evening,
What a busy week we’ve had in school!
This week we have focused on anti-bullying with the main message being the ‘Power for Good’. We’ve thought about how we can use our power for positive affirmations and to stamp out any bullying we might see. We’ve thought about the adults we trust and how we can talk about our feelings to our friends and family. We also had a poster competition: our winners were Meriam and Joel, both have won a book token.
Our proud to be me day was fantastic. It was great to see the children relaxed and in their own clothes. We’ve had a great afternoon thinking about what makes us individual and special, celebrating everyone together.
Thank you to everyone who donated a box of cereal for our dominoes. The food bank were amazed by the generosity from Longnor community.

Well done to our achievers this week:
- Little Owls: Esmee and Elin for great teamwork.
- Kestrels: Owen for his fabulous work across the curriculum and Oliver for his brilliant number bond work.
- Merlins: Lucy for an excellent attitude towards work and Marco for a very positive approach to learning.
- Eagles: Pippa for her excellent attitude to learning and Camilla for always being helpful to other children and adults.
- Mrs Beel has nominated Oscar in Merlins for being incredibly helpful and polite around school.
Our handwriting heroes are Katy, Iris, Betsy and Wren.
Have a lovely weekend.
Mrs L. Edgerton

Dates for Your Diary

Volunteers for Kestrels Class
Could you spare some time to volunteer during the school day? Listening to our children read is really important; therefore, if you could spare half an hour at all to pop in and listen to our Kestrels children read, we would really appreciate it.
Please contact the school office if you are interested. We will, of course, need to run a DBS check.
Christmas dinner orders
Please use the link below to indicate whether your child would like a Christmas Dinner on the 10th December. We need to confirm numbers by the start of December. Thank you.
We will be offering turkey or vegetarian sausages with all the trimmings.

Tractor Run – Raffle Prize Donations
We’re getting ready for this year’s much-loved Tractor Run and we’re hoping to put together a fantastic raffle to help raise funds for the school. If you’re able to donate a prize – big or small – we would be incredibly grateful!
Prizes can be anything from gift items to vouchers, and we also welcome donated services (in previous years we’ve even had things like a boiler service kindly offered!).
If you’d like to contribute, please drop your donation off at the school office before 18th December.
Thank you so much for your support!

Shropshire Music Services
This week Eagles class had a fun woodwind workshop with Shropshire Music Services. It was wonderful to see our students trying out new instruments. Please find information on the Shropshire Music Services website if your child wishes to learn an instrument.
