Friday 11th February
Good evening,
We have had such a lovely term at Longnor. When I think back to everything we have achieved, it is remarkable and all down to the staff, children and support from home, so thank you!
Eagle class have had a very busy term including a trip to Arthog. I have been incredibly impressed with year six who have been working with me for their maths. They have developed in maturity and are showing excellent lifelong learning skills.
Thank you to our School Circle who have worked hard for our community organising events for our children and families. We raised a fantastic £441 from the Easter disco this year. Thank you to everyone who helped. We have bought a Longnor school flag for us to use at events and this will have its first outing at the half marathon on Saturday.
We would like to wish Ms Mullock the best of luck as she heads to Newcastle Upon Clun school as the head of school for the summer term. We know that you will be fantastic in this role, but we look forward to having you back in Kestrels in September!
I know that you will join me in welcoming Miss Arthur to our Longnor team as she will be teaching in Kestrels from Mondays to Thursdays.
Good luck to everyone running in the half marathon tomorrow. We will have our new school flag near the course – please look out for it as we can use it as a gathering point.
After a long term and lots of hard work, I’d like to wish you all a very happy Easter. Have a lovely break and we look forward to seeing you on Monday 28th April for the summer term.
All the best.
Mrs L. Edgerton
Our ‘little friends!’
Our ‘Little friends’ are back! Please could you check your child’s hair as we have had a few cases in school. If your child has long hair it may be advisable to tie it back when at school.
The advice form the school nurse is to use conditioner and a special metal comb. Every 3rd day cover the head in conditioner and comb the hair paying particular attention to the crown, behind the ears and the nape of the neck. Rinse with fresh water. This should be repeated every 3rd day for 2 weeks then once a week.

Lingen Davies Spring Walk
Thank you to all out students for helping paint the eggs for the Lingen Davies Spring Walk. The walk raised a total of £2,416. Apparently, our decorated wooden Easter Eggs were well received by walkers.
