Friday 11th July

Good evening,

We have had a brilliant week in school! The sun has been shining and the classrooms have been filled with art, drama and music! It was fantastic watching the hilarious Eagle class production of Rock Bottom last night! I was really impressed by the confidence that they showed on the stage and there were even some brave enough to sing solos. Congratulations to all of the Eagle class team.

We are excited to share that we have appointed Mrs Alex Phillips to be the class teacher of Kestrels next year. She is an experienced teacher, having taught all ages from primary to secondary school. She has worked in a number of schools locally. We’re looking forward to working with her over the next year as she covers Ms. Mullock. Kestrel class will have the following provision next year:

  • Monday – Thursday morning = Mrs Phillips
  • Thursday afternoon and Friday = Mrs Edgerton
  • PE and RE will be on a Wednesday afternoon covered by Mrs Cooper and Mrs Edgerton

Therefore, next week, we will be saying thank you to Miss Arthur for all her hard work teaching Kestrel class. She has worked hard to plan exciting learning opportunities for Kestrel class. We wish her the best of luck with her continued teaching.

Congratulations to all of our achievers this week:

  • Morven, Oliver and Charlie from Little Owls for their great listening skills.
  • Miles for showing kindness towards one of his peers.
  • George from Kestrels for being a kind friend.
  • Ellie for becoming more independent when learning.
  • Lucy for using her initiative and helping everyone.
  • Neve and Matilda for performing with enthusiasm.
  • Eagles for an amazing performance of Rock Bottom.

We are all looking forward to a fantastic camp tonight with years two and four. Please check Seesaw for photos later this evening.

All the best.

Mrs L. Edgerton

Move up afternoon – Kestrels

On Tuesday the 15th July, year one and reception will have their move up afternoon with Mrs Phillips. They will go to lunch as usual and then I will fetch them for their move up afternoon. Years two and pre-school will have Ms Arthur and Mrs Jones as usual.

Lawley Leap Thanks

School Circle would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff members, volunteers, and participants who made our first ever Leap such a wonderful success.

Their enthusiasm, dedication, and generous support brought our community together in the most meaningful way. From planning and setup to engaging activities and cleanup, every effort made a difference and the feedback has been incredible from the public who took part. This event would not have been possible without the time, energy, and spirit contributed, and we are truly grateful.

That said, organizing and running this event with such a small team presented many challenges. It required extra time, effort, and commitment from a handful of dedicated individuals who went above and beyond to ensure everything came together. This experience has reminded us just how crucial volunteering is to the success of School Circle. We encourage more members of our school community to get involved—every helping hand makes a big difference and helps lighten the load for everyone.

Without (hopefully!) missing anyone out, thank you again to:

Sally Moore, Sheena Bell, Rachel Jordan, Alison and Tim Jordan, Clare Probert, Josie Layborn-Aird, Clare and Dan Baxter-Smith, Lynne James, Sue Bryant, Alexis Brookfield, Charlotte Downes, Andy and Lily Beel, Juliet Hurrell, Jess Waller and her fabulous catering team.

We also had an incredible team of children who really pitched in to help on the fete, thank you to Emily Probert, Camilla Aljan, Neve Jordan and Matilda Baxter-Smith.

And to the staff and marshalling team, who went above and beyond, thank you to Dan and Molly Wilson, James Hurrell, Gemma Ireland and family, Clare and Henry Millington, Mrs Jones and family, Mrs Cooper and family, Mrs Offland and family, Ms Mullock, Mr Helliker, Miss Arthur, Mrs Lewis and family, Mrs Stekic, Ms Yates and Mrs Edgerton and family.

Special thanks also to the Carter family for their generous donation towards the start up cost of this event.

100 Club end of year

We will be closing 24/25 100 club next Friday – if you are a parent of a year 6 leaver and do not wish to continue with your number please can you let one of the School Circle secretaries know, and they can release your numbers to those joining in September. Those who are still with us will be contacted by the end of next week to confirm your current numbers.

Thank you for your support.
