Friday 11th October
Good evening,
We’ve had another busy week in school! Walking around the classes, it is incredible to see how focused and studious the children are. Children are wearing ‘Be inspired’ stickers with pride and are taking home positive postcards to share these achievements with you at home. We are pleased to hear that children are confidently sharing these positive experiences.
With a hot air balloon flying low over the school this morning, children came into school excited to learn how they fly. Little Owls spent the morning making their own air balloons with the junk modelling after watching it carefully outside. It is great to hear about how children can lead their own learning.
Thank you to Sam from Messy Church who came in on Thursday to lead our assembly. She taught us a new song and the sign language so that we could sign the song.
It was lovely to meet new Longnor families at the open day on Thursday. We are all excited to work with you.
For now, though, have a lovely weekend.

Parents Evening – book your appointment now
Our next Parents’ Evenings are taking place on October 21st and 23rd.
We feel that it’s important that all parents/carers should meet with their child’s teacher to discuss progress and to answer any questions that you may have.
Our online Parents Evening booking system makes choosing appointment times with your child’s teacher quick and easy.
Simply visit the class appointment page (below) and select an available appointment time. You will be sent an email confirming your appointment.
(N.B. To ensure that our confirmation email doesn’t get spam filtered out, please add the email address ‘longnorschool@kiskadoo.com’ to your address book)
Please note that Mrs Edgerton will be hosting appointments for all Class 2 children.
You are of course welcome to bring your children to the meetings, however night owls will be using the outside space and the study, so please could you be responsible for your children at all times and make sure they stay inside and away from these spaces. Perhaps they could bring a book or accompany you to the meeting. Thank you for your support.

Thank you.
Bag2School Fundraiser
We can confirm that our Autumn clothes & shoe collection with Bag2School will take place on 26th and 27th November.
Bag2School is the UK’s leading textile recycler and fundraiser working with schools and since its inception in 1999. School Circle receives funds in return for your donations.
As well as raising vitally needed funds for schools, it also helps the environment by helping to divert good quality unwanted textiles away from landfill.
By getting involved in our Bag2School collection, you have an opportunity to sort through your cupboards and wardrobes and donate good quality unwanted textiles – this can include adults’ and children’s clothes, shoes (tied together please), hats, belts and handbags, (please click here for full details).
Don’t forget to ask grandparents, friends and neighbours to have a sort out as well!
School Circle will be in the village hall car park at school drop off and pick up times on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th November. If you can’t get to us on those days but have items to donate, please let the school office know and we may be able to collect.
Many thanks for your support.
