Friday 11th September

Good evening,

We’ve had a busy week in school preparing for the year ahead.

In assembly, we thought about our school story – the story of the Good Shepherd. Within our discussions, we thought about how every sheep in the flock mattered to the shepherd and everyone was valued. We thought about how, in Longnor, everyone matters and that is why we would like them to share their opinions and talents through committees and clubs.

Therefore, children have been thinking about which job or leadership role they would like. It has been fantastic hearing about all the new ideas for clubs and school development. We will find out on Monday who has been voted into these roles.

Well done to year six who had Bikeability this week. They have all shown fantastic respect and listened incredibly to instructions. The instructors were really impressed!

This week we have started to celebrate key individuals in their achievements. Well done to:

  • Little owls and Tawny owls – Theo for settling in really well and Martha for doing her best.
  • Kestrels – Ralph for joining in well with everything and Jens for a super start and trying really hard.
  • Merlins – Charlie D for being a wonderful learning partner, Nancy for being really caring towards others and Darcy for a wonderful positive attitude towards learning.
  • Eagles – Rose for being a fantastic, respectful member of the class and Sia for her enthusiasm towards all of her work.

We all hope that you have a lovely weekend.

Longnor School Circle AGM

Everyone is warmly invited to attend the Longnor School Circle Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 17th September at 2.30pm held at Longnor school.

The AGM is a great opportunity to hear about what the School Circle has been up to over the past year, find out how funds raised have supported the school, and hear about plans for the year ahead.

Whether you’ve been involved before or are completely new to Longnor School, we’d love to see you there. Coming along doesn’t mean you’re committed to a specific role, it’s simply a chance to find out more about what we do and how you can get involved, in whatever way suits you.

The School Circle plays an important role in bringing our school community together and raising funds to support enriching experiences and resources for our children. Every new idea, helping hand and fresh face is always welcome.

We hope to see you there!
