Newsletter – Friday 14th July

Good evening,

This evening, you will find school reports in bags. Having read every child’s report, I am really impressed by the mature learning behaviours and fantastic progress that every child has made. You should all be really proud of them – I certainly am!

Listening to Eagle class play on Wednesday night, one of their songs was called ‘I’m not average!’ Longnor students are far from average: they each have incredible talents that we celebrate each day through the extra-curricular activities and work we complete in school.

Thank you for your support in the alteration of events this week. The weather has been changeable and we have tried to make the call early to give plenty of notice. We hope to run the Lawley walk for Merlin class on Monday and our sports day on Thursday next week.

In the meantime, have a lovely weekend.

All the best.

Mrs L. Edgerton

Eagles Play

Congratulations to Eagles class for their wonderful performance of The X-Factory on Wednesday night.

Thank you to Ms Mullock and Mrs Hall for all their hard work on the play.

BioBlitz Event, Cholmondeley Estate, Malpas: 16th-17th August 10am-3pm

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Chester are organising an outreach event for primary school age children and their parents or guardians to come along to in the summer holidays. The event is called ‘University of Chester Cholmondeley Estate BioBlitz’ and it will be held at Cholmondeley Castle Gardens on Weds 16th and Thurs 17th August, 10am-3pm.

The event is a fun and educational day for parents and guardians to bring their children along to, where they will find out what wildlife species are in the area and how to identify them using our specialist field equipment. There will be students and staff from the university there to teach the children all about wildlife identification in a fun and interactive way. Please see the attached poster, and feel free to share this with any families who may be interested in attending.

Event Details: 16th and 17th August, 10:00am-3:00pm

Event Location: Cholmondeley Castle, Cholmondeley Castle Gardens, Malpas, Cheshire, SY14 8AH

Please note, the event is free to attend and there is no booking needed, just turn up on the day and stay for as long as you wish.

We’d be delighted for any of your pupils or families to join us for this event, however if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best Wishes
