Newsletter – Friday 15th March

Good evening,

We’ve had a brilliant day in school, dressed in red and sharing jokes. Thank you to all that contributed to Red Nose Day as we raised a fantastic £92.20. We learnt today of a Waves project that benefits children of all ages, that need support, through music. It is great that we can do a little to help.

As part of the day, we had a joke competition within our classes. Congratulations to Rebecca, Henri, Toby, Etienne, Jack, Ottilie and Elliot for their winning jokes.

We are nearing the end of the term and preparing for Easter. School will visit the church for a service next week. As it has already been a very busy term, we have decided to keep this as a school event. Thank you to all that are helping to support our school Easter events especially the school disco, which I know the children are looking forward to.

Take care and enjoy the weekend.

Mrs L. Edgerton

The Easter Disco tickets must be purchased by Mon 18th!

Tickets are £6.00 per child to include a hot dog and drinks. KS1 (Little Owls and Kestrels class) 5.30pm-7pm, KS2 (Merlins and Eagles class) 7pm-8.30pm.  Children from nursery joining us on the night must be accompanied by an adult.

Please let the school office know if your child has an allergy or a dietary requirement when booking your tickets.

ParentPay Balances

As we approach the end of the financial year, could we please ask that you settle any arrears outstanding on your ParentPay accounts. We would appreciate if you would give this your immediate attention.

All voucher schemes and government childcare vouchers have now been applied to your ParentPay accounts, up to the 28th February. Any payments received after this date will be processed after the Easter Holidays. Thank you.

Infections

We have had reports that a couple of children have had threadworm infections. Because of this, we are following guidance and increasing hand washing, ensuring all food is washed thoroughly before eating and making sure that key surfaces are thoroughly cleaned. Should you find that your child has an infection, please follow guidance and treat immediately. The school office would appreciate being notified of any infections in order to manage these effectively. There is no need to keep your child(ren) home from school.

Waterproofs needed

If anyone has any spare children’s waterproof trousers or coats that they are planning to donate, we would really appreciate them in school. Thank you so much.

Wood wanted

We are looking for some wooden stumps to use as seats in our school Forest School site. Ideally, the diameter of the wood needs to be at least 30cm and the stumps should be at least 45cm tall.

We also require some smaller logs with a diameter of about 10cm and a length of roughly 5 feet. These will be used as shelter poles (Y shaped poles are brilliant for this). Silver birch or beech wood is brilliant for this.

If you can donate some wood to our school, we would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

Mrs Lewis
