Friday 20th December
Good evening,
What a fantastic year 2024 has been! It has been wonderful sharing in the success of our children and community. Thank you to all for your support. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank a few individuals:
- Many thanks to the staff of Longnor who always go above and beyond to design an inspirational curriculum for our children.
- Many thanks to Tina who has given many hours to lead events for the School Circle.
- A huge thank you for all our volunteers who give their time to listen to readers, come on trips and run events for the school circle.
- We are thankful to our school governors who support our learning and school.
Our children have had a fantastic treat today, as the Wonderdome visited school and each class was treated to a ‘space’ themed show. This was funded by the School Circle, so a huge thank you to them. We have also bought two new ipads this term from funds raised, so thank you. Recently, the School Circle have raised £939 at the tractor run (some of this was donated to the Air Ambulance), £281 was raised by the PJ and Popcorn night, £173 was raised at the wreath making and £662 was raised at the Frost Fayre and £448 raised at the Halloween disco. A huge thank you to everyone that has been part of these fantastic events.
Thank you to those that joined us for the Carol Service today. We all wish that you have a lovely and safe Christmas break. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 7th January.
All the best.
Mrs L. Edgerton
End of Day January
Please complete your child’s end of day form by 6th January 2025 at the latest.
It is essential that we have these forms ready for the start of the new term so we know how many children to expect in after school activities and clubs and can organise staff numbers accordingly.
Changes to your child’s end of day arrangements can always be made on the day.
Thank you for your support.

Medication
From January, we will no longer be able to offer your child Calpol or Piriton in school without a completed ‘Parental agreement for school to administer medication’ form.
If your child needs Calpol, Ibuprofen or Piriton during the day, we will require a parent or carer to supply the medication each morning and complete a medical form at Reception.
We will no longer be holding any school stock of these medications.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Thank you for your donations
A huge thank you to everyone who donated warm clothing to the refugee appeal. They were extremely grateful for your generous donations. We would also like to thank you for the donations of food and Christmas items for the Reverse advent calendar appeal. We will pass these to the food bank today.
