Friday 20th January

Good evening,

We’ve had another busy week in school! As part of our assemblies and whole school approach to learning, we have been thinking about what makes an outstanding learner. We are building up skills each week that we are focusing on to ensure that we are ready to learn and do our best. In Little Owls and Kestrels, they have been introduced to:

  • Creative Chameleon – do you have your own ideas and think about other possibilities?
  • Reflecting Rhino – check your progress. How well are you doing?
  • Slinky Linky Snake – can we make links with our learning across subjects?

These are then built upon in Key Stage Two where we are collecting jigsaw pieces to build the outstanding learner. This week we thought about:

  • Retrieving and revising facts and information
  • Making links between learning and apply reasoning
  • Reflect upon your progress in subjects

We are continuing to build up the jigsaw and our independence as we become mature learners.

Have a lovely weekend. All the best.

Mrs L Edgerton

Forest School

The outside areas are very muddy at the moment, so a change of shoes (wellies) is essential to join in forest school. Please could these be sent into school on forest school days:

  • Little Owls – Mondays
  • Kestrels – Thursdays
  • Merlins – Wednesdays
  • Eagles – Wednesdays

End of day

Thank you to everyone for your patience at the end of day for picking up children. We have managed to sort the buses so that all children are dismissed at 3:15pm ready for after school activities. Unless it is essential to be picked up before then, please could you help us by waiting for 3:15pm. Thank you, this will help us be efficient and punctual.

16th Feb – Save the Date

Please save the date of Thursday 16th February for an after school ‘Popcorn and Pyjama Evening’.

More details to follow shortly!

Understanding your child workshops / courses

There are lots of interesting courses free of charge to Shropshire families that encourage us, as adults, to think about the development of our children. They use the Solihull Approach and are very interesting. Please use this link and code DARWIN18 to sign up free of charge:
