We’ve had a very busy week in school! New clubs have been keeping us busy with new activities making their debut: podcast, nature and show club to name a few. Watch this space as new and exciting shows are being written and entertaining podcasts hope to make you laugh!
All children have been working incredibly hard, but a special mention to our swimming groups this week. Some children have been boosting their confidence with extra lessons and they have, for the first time, been jumping in and swimming in the deep end. We are very proud of them.
We have made some decisions as to next year’s PD days and, therefore, I attach the school overview for your reference: 2023-2024-term-and-holiday-dates.
For now, though, I hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend. We’ll see you all on Tuesday.
All the best.
Mrs L. Edgerton
Please complete your child’s end of day arrangements for May, by Sunday 30th April. Thank you.
Thank you so much to Hannah in Merlins class for organising the own clothes day this week. We raised a fantastic £164.70 for the WWF. Well done Hannah and thank you everyone for your generous donations.
On 5th May we will be celebrating the King’s coronation with an afternoon tea party. Children can come into school in their own clothes or party clothes on this day.
School Circle are hoping to host a Coronation Tea Party on the afternoon of Friday 5th May and need volunteers to help run the event.
Can you spare a few hours to help set up and clear down?
If so, please let us know on the School Circle WhatsApp group or leave your details at the school office. Thank you.
Frankie from Little Owls has lost a bobble hat. It has Frankie written on the front. Please return it to the office if it has accidentally come home with you. Many thanks.
Just to remind you that school will be closed on Monday 1st May for the May Day bank holiday and Monday 8th May for the King’s Coronation extra bank holiday.
Please can you ensure that all ParentPay accounts are brought up to date.
We are sending your child home with a letter from Shropshire Council about free school transport to secondary school. We have attached a paper copy of the application form to the letter but you can also apply online at https://shropshire.gov.uk/school-transport/ or by calling 0345 6789008.
Applications must be made by 31st May 2023.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions about this. Thank you.
A big thank you to everyone who came to our rearranged Egg Hunt last Sunday. The rain may have stopped the hunt at one point, but we really appreciate everyone turning up and supporting the event – all round egg-cellent effort!!
Thank you to Holland and Clay Plumbing for kindly sponsoring the event and to Mrs Edgerton and Alexandria Croft for helping on the day.
Tea towels designed by the children have now been delivered and are ready to be sent home if you have placed an order. If you are hoping to place an order please do so soon before Friday 5th as we have limited numbers available. They will also be on display at the end of each school day to purchase, so please bring cash if you are not placing your order via ParentPay. Many thanks.
Numbers were drawn independently by School Circle’s secretary, Alex Croft.
Thanks for your support!
Within the Ryton community, members of the village are beginning a project to turn the Fox Inn into a community hub which provides a café, shop, parcel and prescription hub and internet provision. They have been on the news lately and would like to share the project with the local area. To read more, please see the following article:
