Friday 29th November

Good evening,

We’ve had a lovely week at school thinking about how we develop trust in each other. We talked about the words that we use and how some people confuse news and gossip. We thought about whether it belongs to us, it’s true and whether it’s kind.

Thank you to everyone that joined us for Merlin’s class assembly today. It was lovely to see and hear about their learning this term – they have all been working incredibly hard, so very well done, Merlins!

Also, another well done to Merlins who have completed their Mo-vember challenge. They have all shown fantastic team work and support for each other as they completed 1000s of laps on the school playground! Congratulations to them all as they’ve raised over £500 for charity. Well done! You have inspired Eagle class as they are considering a sponsored silence – that will be challenging!

Kestrel class had a lovely day out at St Lawrence’s church in Church Stretton. They explored the true meaning of Advent. They were great ambassadors for our school as they asked wonderful questions and showed respect throughout. Well done, Kestrels.

I look forward to seeing many of you at wreath making tonight (many thanks to Charlotte Downes for organising this) and those helping on Sunday.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mrs L. Edgerton

Reverse Advent Calendar

A message from school council:

The school council is setting up a reverse advent calendar again this year in aid of Church Stretton Food Bank. If you are able to, we are looking for donations of food and toiletries like biscuits, tins, toothpaste etc. This year, they are also hoping for some sweet treats that might help make Christmas special for someone in need.

Please bring in your donations from Monday the 2nd December to Friday the 13th of December. We will then take all donations to the food bank in the last week of term.

Warm clothes appeal – thank you

A huge thank you from the school council for your generous donations of warm clothes for refugees. We collected bags and bags of lovely warm clothes which will be passed on this week. Thank you for your support.

School Circle Non Uniform Day – Friday 13th December

School Circle would like to propose a festive non uniform day for Friday 13th December for all children and instead of the usual £1 donation that children come in with, we are asking that children bring in an item from home from the list below that would be suitable for the upcoming Frost Fayre on Sunday 15th December. As always this is an optional suggested donation for the fayre.
We are also planning to run a small Elves Workshop where children can come and purchase a small gift that we can wrap up for them to take away, its an opportunity for the children to perhaps purchase a gift for parents or family members independently, and we would really appreciate any small unwanted or second hand gifts that you might be able to spare.
Items required:
Jolly Jam Jars
Raffle Prizes
Booze for the raffle (please take care when sending this in with your children to school)
Small gifts such as scented candles/gently used books/unwanted gifts/old games & toys etc
Any questions about this please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Frost Fayre planning group, and as always thank you in advance for your help and generosity.

Unnamed lost property

We have a large amount of unnamed lost property in school so weather permitting, we will set up a table outside school on Monday.

If your child has lost a branded school cardigan or sweatshirt, please email or visit the office.
