Friday 4th September 2026
Good afternoon,
Welcome back to everyone for a fantastic new year! It has been lovely meeting everyone on the gate and seeing how much they have all grown!
In assembly, we have been thinking about how we can be inspiring or inspired this year. We’ve thought about setting ourselves challenges and aiming high. It would be lovely to hear their new ideas for clubs, changes or ways to inspire others this year. We hope that you will see ‘be inspired’ stickers this half term.

I’d like to offer a warm welcome to our new students and staff. Welcome to Miss Logan who is teaching Eagles this term and welcome to Ms Manning who is a new TA in Little Owls. A huge welcome also to all new families to Longnor – we look forward to working with you all.
We have wasps feeding off our willow trees again – that is why we have the tape out on the field. We still have plenty of space to play. Unfortunately, we may have to look at removing the rest of the willow.
Please have a look at our job vacancies page as we could appreciate having a few more casual TAs join our team that could help us covering leave in school. If this is something that interests you, please get in touch.
If you are able to join us for the ‘meet the teacher’ meetings next week, then that would be wonderful:
- Monday 7th September (3:30pm) – Merlins
- Tuesday 8th September (3:30pm) – Kestrels
- Wednesday 9th September (3:30pm) – Eagles
Take care and have a lovely weekend.
Mrs L. Edgerton
Longnor School Circle AGM
Everyone is warmly invited to attend the Longnor School Circle Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 17th September at 2.30pm held at Longnor school.
The AGM is a great opportunity to hear about what the School Circle has been up to over the past year, find out how funds raised have supported the school, and hear about plans for the year ahead.
Whether you’ve been involved before or are completely new to Longnor School, we’d love to see you there. Coming along doesn’t mean you’re committed to a specific role, it’s simply a chance to find out more about what we do and how you can get involved, in whatever way suits you.
The School Circle plays an important role in bringing our school community together and raising funds to support enriching experiences and resources for our children. Every new idea, helping hand and fresh face is always welcome.
We hope to see you there!
