Friday 5th September

Good evening,

What a fantastic first week of school we’ve had! It has certainly been busy already! We are really proud of how everyone has started the year and how settled the classes are already.

Today we have mentioned to the children about opportunities to lead and to be part of a committee. We have lots of exciting plans this year. There are a range of jobs from the eco-committee, school council and librarians, to club leaders. We will decide these next week with the children.

The School Circle have a coffee morning next Friday morning. If you have the time, it would be lovely to see you.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mrs L. Edgerton

Phonics workshop for parents of Tawny and Little Owls

If you are able to join Mrs Jones for a phonics workshop on Monday 15th September at 9am, she would really appreciate explaining the phonics scheme and how she has set up reading books etc.

We hope to see you then.

Meet the teacher meetings

If you are able to join your new class teacher for a quick meeting next week, we’d like to share key information with you:

Monday 8th September at 3:30pm – Merlins
Tuesday 9th September at 3:30pm – Kestrels
Wednesday 10th September at 3:30pm – Eagles

Free music lessons

This morning we were treated to some recorder playing by a local group. This year, we would like to offer free music lessons to those that would like to learn.

KS2 recorder lessons – your child may have expressed an interest today and has had a taster session this afternoon. If you would like your child to receive regular lessons on a Thursday afternoon, please respond to the letter handed out.
Eagle class ukulele lessons – if your child has expressed an interest, you will have been given a letter: please get in touch with the school office.
Year 2 ocarina lessons – during their music lesson on a Thursday afternoon, Mrs Cotton will be teaching year 2 ocarina.

We are really excited to offer this opportunity and look forward to sharing our playing with you soon.

School Circle Coffee Morning

This informal social event is open to both new and returning parents. Please stop by if you can on Friday 12th of September at 9 am.

100 Club Renewals

If you would like to continue with your 100 club number and renew your membership for this academic year, please let School Circle know by Monday 15th of September at the latest.

We will then release available numbers to new parents to purchase. Thank you for supporting the school!
