Friday 6th December
Good evening,
This week has been particularly busy in school!
Thank you to all the ‘elves’ who helped to decorate school last weekend. School is definitely feeling Christmassy and there is a fantastic festive excitement bubbling around the corridors!
In assembly, Reverend Laura shared with us the importance of advent to Christians in preparing for Christmas as we lit the first candle on our advent ring, representing hope. Messy church also visited this week to lead an assembly. They asked us to think about what Christmas means to each of us and how this compares to the first Christmas. Please see the invite to Messy Church next Wednesday evening.
Many, many thanks to those who helped with the movie night on Wednesday. Everyone had a lovely evening enjoying their popcorn with friends.
Well done to Eagle class have raised over £400 for charity by completing a sponsored silence on Thursday. It was incredible to watch the whole class teach and learn without saying a single word! We’ve never known Eagles to be so quiet! We are all very proud of you. Also, thank you to Eagles for leading your class assembly today. It was wonderful hearing about your learning this term.
For the Frost Fayre on the 15th December, it would be fantastic if children were able to perform their music and dancing. All classes have the opportunity to share. It would be wonderful if they were able to perform with their class mates:
- 2:15pm – Little Owls and Kestrels performing their Christmas songs
- 2:30pm – Merlin class performing in their class band
- 2:45pm – Drama club performance
- 3:00pm – Dance club performance
- 3:15pm – Eagle class performance
- 3:30pm – Children from composing club performing
- 3:40pm – Whole school Christmas singing
Please encourage children to meet me by the stage to share their fantastic musical talents.
Thank you to all for your continued support. Have a lovely weekend.

Non Uniform Day – Fri 13th Dec
School Circle have arranged a festive non uniform day for Friday 13th December for all children. Instead of the usual £1 donation, we are asking that children bring in an item from home from the list below that would be suitable for the upcoming Frost Fayre on Sunday 15th December. As always this is an optional suggested donation for the fayre.
We are also planning to run a small Elves Workshop where children can come and purchase a small gift that we can wrap up for them to take away, its an opportunity for the children to perhaps purchase a gift for parents or family members independently, and we would really appreciate any small unwanted or second hand gifts that you might be able to spare.
Items required:
- Jolly Jam Jars
- Raffle Prizes
- Booze for the raffle (please take care when sending this in with your children to school)
- Small gifts such as scented candles/gently used books/unwanted gifts/old games & toys etc
Any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Frost Fayre planning group, and as always thank you in advance for your help and generosity.
Parent Governor Election Result
Thank you to everyone who submitted their votes for the governor election. We are delighted that both candidates were supported by the community and both are being welcomed onto the governing board. Please see the following link for the results for the Parent Governor Election:
