Friday 6th January
A Happy New Year to you all!
We have had a lovely start to the year with everyone returning to school keen to work hard and learn. It has been a pleasure walking around school and seeing all classes focused and enjoying their learning. Well done, Longnor!
This week has been Hygge week and we’ve thought about how we can relax on our own, enjoying a book with a cosy blanket and slippers. We have had a look at our learning environments in school so that they are more ‘Hygge’. We’ve thought about using low level lighting, plants in the classroom and fairy lights to have a welcoming atmosphere. We’ve also been trialling Calm Brain – scientifically designed routines that help us to regulate our emotions. These have been great fun and have been used throughout the day. Although we can’t really have cushions and blankets in school all the time, we will definitely continue to build in the Hygge approach as we continue through the year.
I hope that you have a lovely weekend and I look forward to hearing whether you have any Hygge time at home!
All the best.

End of day
We have altered our routine in school so that all children will be dismissed on time at 3:15pm. The bus children will still be leaving school first, but we have a swift system now set up so that children will be at the gate at 3:15pm ready to spot their lift home. Thank you for your patience in this and as we improve our systems.
