Friday 7th July
Good evening,
What a fabulous week we’ve had!
Thank you to all of you for your support at the summer fayre. It was wonderful to see so many of you there and it was great to have an audience to perform to. Thank you to all of the School Circle that gave precious time to plan and prepare the day.
Back on Monday, Merlin class had a brilliant trip to the Islamic centre in Craven Arms. The whole of the class were very respectful and asked some fabulous questions. We all learnt lots!
On Thursday, years five and six (with Ella) represented the school at the athletics competition. All children competed in all events demonstrating excellent perseverance. Congratulations to all teams, but in particularly to the girls’ team who were first in their group.
This Friday we had the Crossbar Cup football competition. Our team were fabulous! They worked together as a team and played some tricky matches. They were successful against some large primary schools and made it through to the cup competition. Overall they were placed fourth. Well done to all.
On another note, we would like to wish Mrs Hall the very best of luck in September. She has decided to return to teaching. We are thankful for all the time, support and effort she has dedicated to Longnor and Eagle Class. Good luck, Mrs Hall!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
All the best.
Mrs L Edgerton

Summer Fete Thanks
I would like to express a massive thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed, helped out, donated, supported and performed last weekend. It was such a wonderful day for everyone and we have had a tremendous amount of very positive feedback regarding it!
The day raised an amazing amount of over £1500 which will go directly to the school to help support and enhance our children’s journey through Longnor. All this wouldn’t have been possible without your ongoing support however big or small, and the School Circle team would like to say thank you to:
Alexandria and Lucius Croft, Charlotte Downes, Adele Wright and family, Clare and Dan Baxter-Smith, Sara, Charl and Scarlett Marais, Lizzie, John and Harrison Starkie, Phyllis Riggs, Claire and Stuart Brown and family, Dougal, Jo, Henry and Molly Bell, Richard Hall, Kat & Alistair Beedles, Harry & Eddie Beedles, Rachel, Chris and Samuel King, Chris and Beckie Thomas, Katie & Tom Phoenix and family, Juliet and James Hurrell and family, Bethan & Dan Wilson, Caroline Marsden, Lynne James, Alison and Tim Jordan, Harriet Beeton, Claire Probert, Alexis Brookfield, Daria Shakova, Sarah Knight, Kate Jones, Jess Waller, Sarah McMillan, Alexis Stone, Mrs Cooper and family, Ms Reece and family, Mrs Offland, Mrs Evans and Mrs Edgerton and her family as well as her wonderful band Fever 49.
Please do forgive us if we have missed you out, the list is really quite large but you are very much in our thoughts.
Thank you again and I hope you have a restful summer break ready for the new term in autumn, and wish you all the very best of luck if you are starting anew in September.

Wednesdays for KS2
This week Eagles and Merlins have the following provision on Wednesday afternoon:
- Eagles – PE afternoon. Please come to school in your PE kit.
- Merlins – forest school. Please come to school prepared to go to Beedles Wood
Merlins trip
This week Merlins class visited the Craven Arms Islamic Centre and The Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. They had a very informative and interesting day talking to the Imam in the morning and pond dipping in the afternoon.
Merlins Class – Lawley Walk
Just a reminder that Merlins class will be walking up the Lawley on Monday. Please make sure your child is wearing sturdy shoes and that they bring clothing suitable for the weather including a waterproof coat, hat and sunscreen. They will also need plenty of water and a packed lunch (no nuts, glass bottles or fizzy drinks please).
School meals & wraparound debt
As we approach the end of the school year, we would be most grateful if you can start settling up your accounts on ParentPay.
Tax-free childcare
You can get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year).
If you get Tax-Free Childcare, you’ll set up an online childcare account for your child. For every £8 you pay into this account, the government will pay in £2 to use to pay your provider.
You can use your tax free childcare account to pay for all wraparound care, including clubs.
Please use the following link to check your eligibility and apply https://www.gov.uk/get-tax-free-childcare
If you need any assistance, please speak to Emily in the office.
Eagles Play
Eagles school play, ‘The X-Factory’, will be held outside at school on Wednesday 12th July, weather permitting. The dress rehearsal will be held on Tuesday 11th July at 1.30. If you are unable to attend the performance on Wednesday evening please let the office know and we can arrange a seat for you at the dress rehearsal.
Clubs next year
Just to keep you informed, next year we will be offering two new after school activities: Gymnastics on Monday and Invasion (a mix of rugby, football, netball, basketball etc.) on Wednesday. Please sign up for these activities when completing your end of day arrangements form for September at the end of the summer holidays. Thank you.
