Friday 8th December
Good evening,
With the darker evenings and colder weather, it is certainly winter and signs that we are heading towards the end of the autumn term. Before the end of term, there is a busy timetable with events that you are invited to, so please see the diary dates as we would love to see you!
This week we have been lighting the first candle in our advent ring. It is a purple colour to symbolise the preparations for Christmas and represents the value of hope. Thank you to the School Circle who have helped us in our preparations by decorating the school. It was magical welcoming students back on Monday morning to the fairy lights and Christmas trees.
We have had a few sporting events this week. Well done to the basketball players who went to Church Stretton School on Tuesday to play games and improve their skills. There were a lot of teams there, meaning lots of matches. Everyone improved their skills and many scored hoops. Well done! On Thursday, we went to the year three and four dodgeball competition. This was a very competitive event as it feeds into the county tournament. Congratulations to both teams as they came second and third in their year group competitions. Good luck to the year five and six teams next week as they attend their dodgeball competition.
For now, I must head off to finish preparing for tonight’s Frost Fayre. I look forward to seeing many of you there.
All the best.

Concern regarding tutors – Shropshire County Council
Message from Shropshire County Council:
It has come to the attention of the local authority that safeguarding concerns have been raised about a private tutor. This person has been offering his services to pupils who attend Primary Schools in the Shrewsbury area, despite being unqualified and unregulated.
It is your responsibility to ensure that anyone you’re “hiring” as a private tutor, has the appropriate credentials and safer recruitment checks in place.
