Poetry Competition

Where My Wellies Take Me Poetry Competition

Class 2 have been learning about poetry and they have written some wonderful pieces.

We have discussed this competition in school and the children are very excited. They have had a go at writing poems about their outdoor adventures (the poems must be about adventures in forests/woods) but to have the best chance of winning, I feel that they really need to take their time over writing them and perhaps write a couple of rough drafts first. They can also work on the presentation of their poems by adding photographs or pictures. We even discussed the use of natural materials.

I thought that this would be a good opportunity to set some slightly different homework. Next week, your child will not be bringing their CPG homework book home and instead, I’d like them to work on their poem and enter the competition.

Please follow the instructions below and good luck!
