Today, we had our Safer Schools review with West Mercia Police. We looked over the results of parent and pupil surveys, looking at how we can ensure that every child feels safe whilst at school.
We are delighted to report that 100% of parents felt that our school site was safe and secure. We do understand that there are concerns about the parking outside school on the road at pick up and drop off. We will be asking for PCSOs to be present at key times during the day to ensure that the road is as safe as possible. Please continue to park with care and take extra time when turning to ensure that there are not pedestrians or bicycles behind your vehicle.
Some children gave suggestions as to how the school could be improved. We have had a good look at lunchtimes in the hall and thought about having a VIP table for those that show our dinner ladies their manners whilst in the hall. We will finalise details of this with the kitchen staff and children following half term.
The children have also recommended that class teachers spend more time outside at break time to see them play and interact with each other. We will be implementing a rota following half term including class teachers.
Some children have also asked for the fence to be increased in height around the field. West Mercia Police have looked at the incident log and have noted that there have been no incidents recorded of trespassers during the school day. They recommend that we continue to monitor this closely, place an adult closer to the gate at break times and raise the height of the fence should there concern.
Thank you for all that returned the form. Should you have further suggestions, please let me know as safety is paramount.
