What an amazing start to the academic year with all the fundraising support from the Longnor community! We are truly thankful for all the help that has been given so far and once the sums that have been raised from this autumn’s events have been tallied up, we will let everyone know the total raised so far.
The Frost Fayre was an incredible night and very well attended again, thank you to the following volunteers who made the night run so smoothly:
Alex Croft and family, Zara Wrisdale, Lynne and Richard James, Amanda Evans, Alison Jordan, Krista Price, Lizzie (and mum Phylis) and Elliot Starkie, Felicity and Lee Kienstra, Jenny Blackhurst, Daria Shavkova, Ben McMillan, Sara Marais and family, Cherie Wilkes and family, Jess Waller, Rachel King, James Hurrell and family, Mrs Edgerton, Mrs Lewis, Mr Helliker, Mrs Reece, Ms Offland and of course Santa himself. As always, please forgive me if I have missed anyone off this list.
Thank you also to all the children who performed so beautifully during the evening and to Eagles class who ran their own stalls, as well as everyone else who helped decorate the school in the run up and donated to our fundraiser. This is a huge team effort and wouldn’t have been possible without each and everyone’s input however small.
The movie night was very well enjoyed by the children as well as the adults who helped out during the evening – we aim to hold another movie night in early spring so please keep an eye out for that. School Circle are planning to finish the year off by hosting a Christmas party for the children in school on Wednesday 20th after lunch, if you are free and able to volunteer an hour or so to help run the event, please can you let the school office know.
On a sad note, we say goodbye to our long standing Treasurer Richard Hall who will be handing over to Mrs Stekic and Alison Jordan at the end of this month. Rich has been an incredible (and patient) team member taking on the treasurer’s role for such a long time, on behalf of School Circle, we would like to wish him and his family the very best of luck with their new beginnings in the new year.
I’d like to wish everyone within the Longnor School community and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to hitting the ground running in 2024 with plenty more events and activities for the children.
Very best wishes
