Everyone, at times, struggles with their mental wellbeing. This is normal and we need to be talking about wellbeing and mental health openly.
In school, we have two safeguarding leads: Mrs Edgerton and Mrs Jones. They are available throughout the week to offer advice and support whenever they can. I have an open door for children – should they want to come and talk, I will be there to listen.
Having strategies for resilience and to be healthy is vital and, as a school, we have a positive wellbeing ethos that is woven through our curriculum. We are looking to further develop this and involve you at home through our PSHE curriculum.
If you find your child needs someone to talk to, there are some ‘Bee U’ drop in sessions that are available free of charge to anyone under the age of 25 run by BEAM.
Beam also offer workshops to give guidance and support. There are a range on offer. Please see the courses using this link: click here.
For those children of age 11 and over, there is an online platform called Kooth that offers a portal for chat with counsellors and sharing of any concerns. All is monitored by professionals but they need to set up an account.
For adults, there is someone to talk to at the drop in sessions across Shropshire. Please talk: click here.
As we move into the weekend, give yourself time for wellbeing and please remember to talk.
